Metal Work has recently introduced a family of ISO 15552 compliant cylinders (former ISO6431), which has been accurately redesigned and enhanced. The new cylinders preserve the technical and construction features that have contributed to their success in terms of performance and reliability, while introducing innovations that further improve performance. Like the previous version, the cylinders have: chromed and ground steel rods, both C45 and stainless; head fixing by means of special three-lobe screws; no tie rod; rod guide by means of Teflon-coated bushing with almost no wear; polyurethane, NBR, FKM/FPM lip seals; double anti-corrosion protection for heads, with alodine treatment and subsequent painting. In addition, specific esthetic and functional features have been added so that these cylinders can meet market requirements in the next few years with stronger competitiveness. The new head design stands out for the curved outer profile and the lack of cavity, allowing easier cleaning; they are painted in metallic gray for a more modern and valuable look. Inside the cylinders, shock-absorbing elastomer elements have been added to minimize noise when the piston reaches the end of its stroke and to absorb kinetic energy. The adjustment of pneumatic shock-absorbers has been improved by optimizing the shape of the adjustment needle; this ensures high accuracy in operation as well as large flow rates with open needle to meet high speed requirements.
