Compact Control Terminals with MES Function and Redundant Systems Support

Mitsubishi Electric has added four compact touch-screen models to the high-end GT15 line of INDUSTRIAL HMI control terminals in the GOT1000 series. The new terminals round off the lower end of the existing GT15 line, which is designed for demanding control and visualisation tasks in smaller and medium-sized automation networks.
The new terminals are fitted with 5.7” professional displays in monochrome or colour. The contrasty STN or TFT professional screens are easily legible, with maximum resolutions of 640 x 480 pixels and up to 65,536 colours for flexible and clear visualisation of machine and plant processes. The terminals use a powerful 64-bit RISC microprocessor, combined with a fast graphics processor. Other attractive features include 9 megabytes of project memory, easy data storage on CompactFlash cards and fast programming via a USB or Ethernet port on the front panel. All units also support interaction with the special redundant controller architecture for mission-critical process industry systems that is available for the MELSEC System Q controller platform. A GT15 control professional terminal connected to a redundant system will automatically professional switch over to the currently active controller whenever necessary. In addition, these entry-level models also feature the MES interface function, which provides a simple and inexpensive way to exchange data between the professional production and planning levels of organisations in real time. The MES function also supports automation elements from other manufacturers.
