NEW: V-Gard 520 Fitter's safety helmet MSA
Following the successful launch of exciting new range of V-Gard industrial safety helmets (V-Gard, V-Gard 200 and V-Gard 500) in 2010, MSA is further extending the range with the V-Gard 520 safety helmet, specifically for work at height or for work in restricted or confined spaces.
V-Gard 520 safety helmets are peakless helmets designed to allow users to view and move through any tight spaces in their environment more easily. They have an identical performance to the best in class non-ventilated V-Gard 500 safety helmet, i.e. built in rain gutter, protection against lateral deformation, thermal resistance (-50°C to +90°C) and no ventilation holes protecting the wearer against liquid and molten metal splash.
V-Gard 520 helmets are also optimised for electrical work in the Very Low Voltage (EN 397/ 440 V AC) & Low Voltage (EN 50365 /1000 V AC) categories. V-Gard 520 safety helmets are the only industrial safety helmets on the market whose electrostatic properties have been tested by an independent laboratory. Users working in potentially explosive atmospheres (EC directive 1999/92/EC) take no risks with static electricity when wearing their V-Gard 520 helmets as they are certified to EN 13463-1. In dusty atmospheres for zones 20, 21 and 22 and in gaseous atmospheres for group IIA (zones 1 and 2).
MSA offers complete solutions for users: the V-Gard 520 safety helmet can be supplied with both 3 and 4 point chinstraps as well as the standard 2 point styles. The full range of MSA industrial safety helmet lamp brackets can also be factory fitted for use with the full range of torches available.
This new safety helmet is specifically designed for all those users who may be working at height or involved in such activities as arboreal work, cabling, building and building maintenance as well as ground works and any work in confined spaces.
MSA is a worldwide manufacturer of PPE and gas detection systems, with a helmet site in France dedicated to the design development and production of all types, including industrial, firemen’s, police, military, and aviation helmets. MSA is the world leader in the field of safety helmets, with more than 100 million V-Gard helmets sold around the world since 1962… In addition to equipping the majority of American construction workers, V-Gard helmets are used by the world’s main oil companies, forestry services, utility companies and freight handlers the world over. More recently, V-Gard helmets were seen on TV screens all over the world, proudly worn at the time of their rescue by the 33 Chilean miners trapped for more than two months in the San José mine
