DECOVISION® brings cables into the world of design

What a revolution for the staid world of electric cables! DECOVISION® manufactures and markets a range of decorated electric cables, entirely made in France at Ambert in the Auvergne region. An extended patent application has been made for the process.

An integral part of the design of an object
Manufacturers can now have the choice of 5 families of decorated cable patterns (metal, natural, hi tech, fancy, decorative) with a total of 29 different patterns such as tartan, flowers, fluorescent, mahogany, burled oak, gold, chrome, etc.
Thanks to this decoration, cables can for the first time play an integral part in the look of an object and making an important contribution to its design. For example: a child's Walkman can boast a fancy power cable such as "painting", a contemporary light fitting takes on new impact with a violet power cable, while an MP3 Walkman looks all the better for a "freestyle" hi tech cable and a hi tech "dance" cable will do the same for a singer's mike.

There are countless possible applications: modern and contemporary light fittings, domestic electrical goods whether big or small, toddler's toys and fun items, computer and sound systems, stylish or personalised electrical goods, interior decoration and architecture, sport tuning for cars, etc.

With these fancy, stylish and glossy finishes, cables are no longer purely functional but give objects new visual impact and design possibilities. They thus become an important element, a real part of the decoration of the object for which it supplies the power connection.

Customisation: a powerful incentive to buy for consumers
In addition, this innovating new decorative element can be a powerful incentive to buy for the many consumers keen on home decoration and improvements – as shown by their enthusiasm for certain TV programmes - and the current economic conditions also encourage the general public to concentrate on their immediate surroundings. Indeed, many people want their possessions to have a unique look and not be identical to those in the house next door. By that little "plus" of design, the choice of a decorated cable for a product that runs on electricity can make all the difference between several similar products. Even better, DECOVISION® can produce customised patterns on the cables for a manufacturer who wants to use a specific or exclusive decoration for a product in its range. Anti-counterfeiting markings can even be added.
