December 17, 2007 – With Christmas coming, forecasts indicate that European airports will receive millions of passengers. As a result, air traffic and transport of luggage will increase. In addition to the danger of losing luggage on the journey, one of the main concerns of passengers, specially at this time of year, is that their belongings reach their destination in good condition. Suitcases undertake a torturous journey between being checked in by their owner and being collected from the luggage carousel, and sometimes they are not treated very carefully. This creates a problem,
especially when valuable items are being transported. These worries can now be solved with protection solutions offered by Peli Products, a global leader in the design and manufacture of virtually indestructible cases for protecting valuable equipment.
Peli Products has manufactured the most secure watertight Protector™ Cases on the market for more than 30 years and offers more than 40 different models. They offer a full range of protection for valuable equipment of all sizes (professional computers, LCD screens, video and photo industrial cameras or iPods®, among others and are now producing cases in Crottendorf, Germany.
Known the world over for their legendary toughness, Peli Protector™ Cases feature a fully stackable, trademarked “Dual Band” design that helps protect sensitive equipment from heavy transport and some of the harshest conditions on Earth.
The cases have an open cell-core, solid wall construction for durability (against damage) and an automatic pressure equalization cock to prevent vacuum lock and make it easier to open the case at any altitude. Stainless steel reinforced padlock protector holes are also included for protection against theft.
Consumer associations indicate that victims don’t usually report luggage item theft, as they cannot prove that stolen articles were inside their luggage, but they point out that in periods like Christmas, valuable articles are stolen or damaged during the luggage transportation process. As another level of protection, Peli also offers a choice of a standard lock or their exclusive TSA lock, for travelling to the US (approved by the US Transportation Security Administration). It has a 3-number code combination lock and can be opened only with an exclusive master key.
Peli Protector Cases have been tested by multiple government and private organizations and have passed the strictest quality tests. The company received several certificates, such as the ATA (Air Transportation Association) – Specification 300. This certificate is specific for packaging in the Airline industry and it tests the cases as a reusable industrial container for a
minimum of 100 round trips.
“Besides the maximum protection, our cases are covered with the highest unconditional guarantee on the market today,”
says Christopher Marino, Peli Product’s Managing Director. “Knowing that our cases have survived the 2004 tsunami, ice flows in the Arctic and missile attacks in Iraq, we are sure they will survive in airports”, says Marino.
