Saadiyat Bridge, Abu Dhabi, UAE: Inclined piers constructed with system formwork
The 1,455 metre long Saadiyat Bridge in Abu Dhabi has has an impressive width of 60 metres – one of the widest industrial bridges in the world. The main bridge has a span of 200 metres with an overhead clearance of 26 metres in the bridge centre and is carried by two V-shaped sets of triple identical piers per section. With the help of the PERI formwork and industrial scaffolding solution, the 20-metre high individual supports with 27.45 degree inclinations can be accurately and cost-effectively constructed.
