VersiDrive i.../E2/3E2: The new Frequency Inverters for Three-phase Motors (AC and Three-phase Connection) PETER Electronic

  • VersiDrive i.../E2/3E2: The new Frequency Inverters for Three-phase Motors (AC and Three-phase Connection)
PETER electronic, the German power electronics manufacturer from Berg, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, has expanded its production and product range with the launch of "VersiDrive i.../E2 and /3E2". The new frequency inverter series comes in a compact design and enables the implementation of variable-speed drives with three-phase motors up to a rating of 11 kW.
With this type series, the speed of electric motors in pumps, conveyors, ventilators, as well as wood working, grinding, printing, textile or packaging machines can be changed and optimized. The rotating field frequency of "VersiDrive i.../E2 and /3E2"-inverters is infinitely variable between 0 and 500 hertz (Hz). Thus, in the European 50 Hz three-phase mains, the basic speed of the motor can be increased by 10 times at the maximum; in 60 Hz systems it is possible to increase it by more than 8 times. For single-phase AC connection (/E2; 230 V, 48 to 62 Hz), PETER electronic produces the inverter family in the performance categories 0.37, 0.75, 1.5 and 2.2 kW. For connection to the 3-phase mains (/3E2; 400 V/48 to 62 Hz), the product line comprises seven types between 0.75 and 11 kW. The normal version is suitable for indoor installation (IP20). All models from 0.37 to 7.5 kW are also available in a variant suitable for outdoor use: for this, the devices are certified according to protection class IP66 or NEMA 4X (North American equivalent).Despite their favorable price, "VersiDrive i.../E2 and /3E2" inverters provide many unexpected features such as a serial communication interface with Modbus RTU, controllable via an RJ45 port. The frequency inverters are equipped with potential-free control and signalling contacts. Control and setpoint entry are possible both from remote places (via terminal connection) and via a membrane keypad on the device front panel. In this context, it is also possible to adjust preset frequencies. The switching frequency of the pulse width modulation (PWM) may be selected within a wide range, from 4 to 32 kHz. Also, the inverters are designed to withstand 150% overload for 60 seconds.
All motor controllers are equipped with a mains filter in class C1 or C2 (depending on input voltage), effective up to a distance of 5 meters. The complete type series is equipped with connections for braking resistors; all devices from motor rating 2.2 kW upwards even have integrated braking choppers.
