Piezo Linear Drives and Piezo Stages for Precision Metrology

Physik Instrumente (PI) will display a broad range of piezo stage nanopositioners, piezoelectric drives and positioning systems at booth B-24 in Hall 6 of the HANNOVER MESSE tradeshow, which runs from March 21 to 25. As the world-leading supplier, PI develops and produces all piezoelectric actuators itself – unique in the world of nanopositioning systems. This makes possible flexible adaptation of drive systems to highly specialized applications.

Piezo Stage Systems and piezo linear motors are distinguished from classical drives by high velocity and millisecond response time in dynamic operation, small size with high force capacity and resolution down to one nanometer. Piezoelectric drives, do not require holding currents at rest; in addition, they are basically vacuum compatible and neither create magnetic fields nor are they influenced by them.

PI’s specific technological expertise in high-performance positioning can be found in many application areas, including metrology, microscopy, semiconductors, data storage, medical equipment, automation, and astronomy. To assure highest flexibility and quality, PI maintains in-house sources not only for the piezo drives, but for all key technologies: precision mechanics, digital & analog control electronics and sub-nanometer capacitive position sensors.
