Pipe Stoppers resistant to Oils and Chemicals are are now available, following extensive development and research by Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited.
The new range compliments the Manufacturer’s existing PipestoppersTM expandable and inflatable plugs product range
The “Oil-Chem Stoppers” as this new range is designated, are covered with Nitrile, which has excellent resistance properties to petroleum-based fluids, oils and solvents. It is also able to withstand temperatures of up to 110 degrees.
They provide an easy method of stopping the flow of gas or liquid along a pipe or duct, during leak and pressure testing of pipes and containers, and are particularly valuable for the Petrochemical sector.
Each stopper can be easily inserted through a small entrance port, inflated to the required size and withdrawn again after deflation.
Sizes available start from 2” up to 100” (50 to 2525 mm) and are available with a choice of either a ball or Schrader type valve for sealing after inflation.
Apart from its resistance to petrochemical materials, each stopper has good resistance to abrasion.
In the event of special requirements, the Company can offer specially constructed inflatable stoppers with other coatings.
