Large Surface in a confined space
Large surface in a confined space
Polytetraflon tubular nest heat exchangers are made from PVDF fluoroplastic. They consist of an outer thick-walled cover part and an inside mounted tubular nest. The tubular nest component comprises a large number of individual capillary tubes, which – depending on the desired application – may be of very small diameter and highly thin-walled design. Standard dimensions of the capillary tubes are, a.o., 1.7 x 2, 3.4 x 4, 5.2 x 6 or 6.8 x 8 mm. Generally, the capillary tubes lie close to each other in parallel and may be kept separate by means of swirl segments. These segments at the same time have a positive effect on the heat distribution in the media flow. Depending on the cover diameter, such a bundle of capillary tubes may consist of more than 3,000 individual tubes. The small capillary tube diameters make it possible to realize an extremely large exchanger surface in very confined space. The exchange surface reaches, e.g., 56 m² at NW370, a length of 2,000 mm and capillary tubes of 1.7 x 2 mm.
