Developed by the KAPSTO® Division of Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG Kunststoffwerk - Werkzeugbau, Lohne/Germany, the new GPN 1050 hexagon caps for the hexagon union nuts of manufacturer of hydraulic hose assemblies provide effective protection against contamination, corrosion and mechanical damage during transport and storage. The special internal contours of the caps and the elasticity of the polyethylene (PE-LLD) used in their manufacture together ensure a tight fit and compensate the production tolerances of the hexagon nuts. Whilst the GPN 1000 and GPN 1010 caps hitherto featured by the comprehensive standard KAPSTO® range are suitable only for tightened hexagon nuts, the new GPN 1050 caps have been designed specially for the protection of hydraulic fittings and hydraulic hose assemblies with loosely fitted union nuts. Moreover, these new caps can, like the already existing series of hexagon caps, be used for the protection of hexagon nuts and/or hexagon screw heads in general. The new caps are distinguished by their ease and speed of fitment, not least because there is no longer any need to fix the union nut by means of a screw-in plug. The advantage also simplifies storage: as the hexagon caps are not thread-dependent, the number of different sizes can be reduced. The GPN 1050 hexagon caps are normally black; they are available ex stock in all common spanner sizes from 14 to 60 mm. They can also be supplied to special order in non-standard materials (e.g. heat-resistant), colours and dimensions.........
