Differential Inductive Position Sensor
POSIC introduces the differential inductive position sensor IS2201. The sensor measures only 6.2 x 8.6 mm with a thickness of 0.9 mm and has a differential analog output signal. The bandwidth is 40 kHz at an airgap up to 1.5 mm. Targets can be made of ferromagnetic or electrically conducting materials like steel, copper, aluminum and brass. The sensor detects a lateral movement in front of the sensor-face, e.g. a gear or slotted disc for speed control, a single tooth for index- or stop-position or for short-range linear measurement.
Typical applications are in the automation, mechatronics and motion-control domains for measurement of speed, stop-position or short-range linear position. Markets served include industrial, automotive, robotics, medical, instrumentation, laboratory automation, office equipment.
Evaluation kits containing 2 cabled sensors, a linear or rotary target, a sensor-holder, a target-holder and an interface board are available from stock.
