Power Jacks have launched a 3D CAD catalogue with an built-in product configurator on their website at www.powerjacks.com. The product configurator allows the user to view and configure a solid model of one of Power Jacks’ products online in real-time, then download the required 3D solid model or 2D drawing. At present the products available in the configurator are screw jacks and bevel gearboxes.

The configurator has an intuitive interface that allows users to easily and quickly locate the Power Jacks product they require. Alternatively, a search facility allows users to find units by keywords or base product numbers. Users can configure the product’s technical specification for their exact requirements and generate a model of the unit. The model is displayed in a 3D view and the user can professional zoom, pan and rotate. As well as viewing the externals for the bevel gearboxes, the users can view the internal gear configuration of the model by displaying the model with a transparent gear casing. With the product defined, the user can then download the CAD information as a 3D or 2D drawing. With over 20 model/drawing formats supported including SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, SolidEdge, AutoCAD, Catia, Unigraphics and SDRC-Ideas, the models/drawings can be easily integrated into system designs.
