Rakon Temex announces 1 GHz bandwidth SAW Pulse Compression Sub-System CI E01 for Ultra Wide Band (UWB) applications. Rakon
SAW PCSS competes advantageously with Digital PCSS for UWB applications in terms of power consumption, compactness and reliability.
With regard to the Impulse technique, the Pulse compression technique offers a processing gain of 27 dB and no limitation in repetition rate (up to 1MHz), with further improvement in signal-to-noise ratio up to 33 dB.
Analogue SAW technology also means low power (8W typical) for use in mobile radar, while Chirp transmit signal allows solid state transmitter resulting in compact size ideally suited for handled radar.
