Summer 2009.
“The shining orange of a Delta machine just seemed like the logical colour in such a pictorial environment, in such a stunning picture”.
We are in Burano, a few km from Venice, in the heart of the Venetian lagoon.
The vibrancy of the colours creates a magical effect on all the senses, to the point that exceptional emotions are recalled. This is the island of the leaning tower, of the precious handmade laces. A place of unquestionable charm, where tourists come each year from all over the world to visit this land of canals, colorful houses and reflexes.
But despite such beauty, Burano is still an island. It’s an island surrounded by water: salty water! And that is why such a charming place in reality hides many pitfalls, such as the necessity to ensure services of water and gas to the population.
The salty water causes the metal of the pipes to be quickly corroded, requiring therefore continuous investments and maintenance. In order to avoid corrosion, and constant inconvenience to the public and tourists, polyethylene pipes (HDPE) are the best solution.
The welding of the polyethylene pipelines in the island has been done by using a Ritmo machine: Delta 315. Even in this difficult setting, where moisture, salt and sand are constantly present, the welding machine has given its best in versatility and precision: a common feature to the whole range of Ritmo’s products.
In this unique site, between the small lanes and the bright colors, Delta 315 was able to perform the welding. Thanks to fast and easy configurations, the machine was able to weld bends and joints, with the assurance of complying to all international standards.
The control unit also highlighted all its traits. Thanks to its plastic box cover, the hydraulic system ensured the maximum protection from moisture, salty air, and from the sand carried naturally by the wind.
Once again, a Delta series welding machine has proved to be the best ally for those who want an efficient and reliable working tool.
