The extruder welders series Stargun was developed by Ritmo to weld pipe or sheet in order to build tanks, fume treatment towers, scrubbers, chemical hoods, aspiration systems, hydroseparators etc., adding some weld material between the two parts.
The Stargun series includes 5 models: R-SB 20 (the smallest and lightest, capable of extruding up to 2 kg/hr), R-SB 30 (light and comfortable and capable of up to 3 kg/hr), R-SB 40 (the best compromise between handling and power – 4 kg/hr), R-SB 50 (5 kg/hr) and the R-SB 60 (an hydraulic unit supplied with gearbox and generator, to be completely independent – 6 kg/hr).

The extrusion welding process is especially suitable for applications that due to a complex structure or elevated realization’s costs cannot be build otherwise. In order to reach this goal the equipment characteristics are apparently irreconcilable with each other, like: efficiency, precision, speed, lightness and compact overall dimensions. For jobs that require an elevated output of extruded material (e.g. sheets and pipes with very thick walls or joining geo-textiles) we suggest using the R-SB 50, which mounts a drill with reduced overall dimensions and weight.

To guarantee maximum handling, we supply three different types of handle: rear handle (for jobs that require a lot of “thrust”), pistol grip (useful when it goes about precision), and the one for geo-textiles (suitable for jobs in which the extruder must be “driven”). LMP recently used the R-SB 50 in order to realize air filters formed by 4 big cylinders (9 meters wide and 4 meters high) made of PP and containing activated carbon panels.

15mm thick sheets were used to build these filters for a total weight of 1000 kg each filter. Specifications had to be followed regarding the maximum constancy of extruded material both for quantity and quality in order to guarantee the correct taper ratio.
