While it is easy to talk about energy efficiency, it’s quite another matter to be able to prove it. As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of system climate control solutions, Rittal does not only focus on meeting future challenges and responsibilities. The technology company can already prove that developments of recent years have resulted in solutions with above-average energy efficiency.
Rittal is working in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation (IPA) and TÜV Nord to come up with a neutral, external test to check the energy-efficiency and overall efficiency of its cooling systems. The company has now developed an "efficiency label" to help customers recognize the ecologi-cal benefits of Rittal cooling equipment at a glance. In fu-ture, this symbol will be used to identify all Rittal products that are proven to comply with the ecological requirements of EN ISO 14021. Customers can now be sure that Rittal solutions have efficiency built in.
Rittal developed the environmental declaration together with Fraunhofer-IPA. The verifiability of the environmental manufacturer’s declaration was ensured through the appli-cation of reproducible evaluation procedures such as DIN 3168 in combination with the ASHRAE test (ASHRAE Standard 52.2).These combined tests were performed by DMT GmbH and TÜV Nord.
Rittal’s TopTherm-Plus high performance cooling systems meet all three requirements of the new efficiency label.
