Sampo Hydraulics is meeting the growing need for auxiliary drives with its new Black Bruin wheel hub motor equipped with integrated freewheeling valve. Freewheeling feature is essential function in auxiliary drives when extra traction power is not needed continuosly but target is to achieve savings in fuel consumption.
This new solution simplifiers the whole hydraulic system. Compared to conventional solutions, there is no separate freewheeling valve, which makes shifting faster and more reliable. The need for pipes and connectors is also smaller with this system and there is no need for separate freewheeling pump. There is also an in-built fail-safe system in the motor: if the hydraulic pressure is lost in the system for any reason, the motor shifts automatically to freewheel mode, thereby preventing destruction of the motors.
