An INDEVA model Liftronic has successfully satisfied the need for more productivity, ergonomics and safety for the tire handling task in a big Company.
The tires are of different sizes; the operator picks them out of the container on the conveyor and place them on one of the two roller conveyors that take them to the sorting robot.
By means of the INDEVA the operator can pick a single tire up to a pile of 9 tires for a max weight of 150 kg.
With no need of changing the end effector and of carrying out any adjusting operation, he can pick tires of different diameters, from 12 to 22 inches.
The handles position gets automatically adjusted according to the end effector position, so that the operator can keep an ergonomic position all the time.
This INDEVA system is equipped with a laser pointer placed on the end efector jaws; it shows the operator the position of the jaws when these are inside the tire pile.
In order to quicken the tire release operation, the end effector gets out of the pile automatically with no need for the operator to press any control button. This feature further contributes to better ergonomics for the operator.
The arm joints are equipped with end of stroke interfaced with the customer's roller conveyors, in order to allow evacuation of the tires unto the roller conveyor only when the operator and the end effector are in a safe position.
