IclA compact drives from Berger Lahr integrate everything required to implement decentralised automation solutions. In addition to power and positioning electronics, this comprises a comprehensive range of communication interfaces. With Industrial Ethernet, the intelligent motor and drive product range speaks virtually all languages.
In addition to the conventional fieldbus systems CANopen, ProfibusDP, DeviceNet and RS485, Berger Lahr has integrated Industrial Ethernet into the IclA compact drives. The deterministic Ethernet Powerlink, EtherCAT and Modbus-IDA protocols meet realtime requirements. For the first time now, compact drives in the power class of up to 350 W can implement synchronous operating modes in multi-axis applications such as electronic gear, electronic cam profile, cross cutting or flying saw. Of course, applications that are not time-critical, such as format adjustments, are still possible. The transmission of the fieldbus protocols via Ethernet ensures end-to-end communication systems from the fieldbus level to corporate networks and the Internet in a single network. Easy portability of the data enables access in all areas of the company.
Berger Lahr offers the Ethernet technology for all three IclA versions: with AC synchronous servo motors, with brushless DC motors and with stepper motors. Additional protocols such as Profinet or Ethernet IP are currently being implemented.
