A mobile handheld professional terminal now supplements the Simatic RF300 RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D). The new Simatic RF310M is used to read and write data to all RF300 tags. The main areas of application include commissioning, maintenance and service in manufacturing and logistics plants, for example in baggage handling systems supplier at airports. The rugged handheld terminal in degree of protection IP 54 is protected against splashwater and is designed for use in harsh environments. The backlit display can also be read in poor lighting conditions.
