Press release from SIGMATEK - 2008-06-30

DIAS Drive SDD 215

The highly dynamic DIAS servo system from SIGMATEK can introduce a new addition. The SDD 215 biaxial servo professional amplifier takes the field as a "flexible team player" for multiple applications in the mid-power range.

The SDD 215 is a biaxial device: One axle can be driven with 10 A continuous and 20 A peak current, the other with 15 A nominal and 30 A peak current. This allows a varying number of axles as well as motor combinations with different capacity ranges to be implemented.

Like the rest of the team, the new addition to the DIAS Servo System is compact, powerful and economic, since many assemblies exist only once.

The SDD 215 has an individually adjustable and scaleable output stage concept for servomotors. The functions were limited to current, rotation speed and position control to avoid unnecessary overhead. In addition to position control, a spline interpolation is integrated. Thanks to a new PWM process, power loss is reduced. SIGMATEK has once again emphasized a sophisticated "reduce to the maximum" concept. Counted among the servo regulator's standard features is an auto scaling function, power filter (EMV) and a VARAN interface.

The scan rate of the individual regulators is no more than 62.5 µs. In combination with the hard real time capable and nearly jitter-free VARAN Ethernet bus, highly dynamic control and fast data exchange as well as data updates of five configurable real time channels are possible.

Since the intermediate circuit is accessible, the coupling of additional units is possible. All conventional feedback systems can be implemented: Resolver, EnDAT, Hyperface and Sin/Cos.
