Minimizing set-up times is a decisive factor for increasing productivity and enhancing competitiveness – especially in production machines with small lot sizes, frequent format changes and varying product sizes. SIKO’s new DriveLine AG04B actuator with integrated bus interface enables automation of feed and auxiliary axes and improves machine and process efficiency with a minimum of effort. The advantages are particularly noticeable in close-mount applications, which make greater demands on dynamics, power and safety. A useful option is the integration of a spring professional brake, which guarantees a secure hold even in a currentless state. The application-proven hollow shaft design in stainless steel, with a maximum shaft diameter of 20 mm, also allows problem-free mounting and retrofitting of manual adjustment elements on existing devices. Key benefits of the actuator are its excellent price-performance ratio, simple control behavior, long service life and – last but not least – high starting torque.

The actuator integrates the position measuring system, entire control electronics and field bus interface in its aluminum housing. The brushless 24V EC motor has an output of 150 W and is without wear, guaranteeing a long working life. Depending on the gear ratio selected, an output torque of 2.5 – 14 Nm with nominal speeds of 350 to 70 min-1 is available. The contactless absolute magnetic measuring system, with 1.024 steps per revolution and 4096 revolutions, achieves position values with a high resolution. There is no need for referencing when the manufacturers of actuators are switched on. Electric connection is via spring-type terminals and cable glands supplier or by standard industrial plugs.
