Case Studies Demonstrate Results Achieved with Innovative Spray Technology Spraying Systems
Several of the case studies feature manufacturers of food products. Their challenges include getting seeds to adhere to baked goods and toppings to pizza crusts; uniform spraying of viscous coatings; and applying antimicrobials to meat to extend shelf-life and improve food safety. In each case, Spraying Systems Co. provided equipment solutions that delivered measurable results.
For example, a pizza manufacturer applying soybean oil to dough before baking needed to apply a precise coating of oil to maintain a consistent calorie count. The solution included an AutoJet® Spray System with PulsaJet® automatic spray nozzles. Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) flow control was used to automatically adjust the flow of oil from the nozzles to accommodate line speed changes. This solution resulted in a consistent calorie count, significantly reduced soybean oil waste and saved the processor more than $50,000.
In another instance, a chemical processor using a tote cleaning system from Spraying Systems Co. was able to reduce cleaning time by more than 75%, improve cleaning quality and save $30,000 per month.
Each case study uses a problem/solution format and provides detailed information about the application, products used and the results. The case studies are available at www.spray.com/results.
