On 6th October 2008, Sprecher Automation received the Innovation Award (2nd place) of the County of Upper Austria in the category "medium-sized enterprises” for its automation platform SPRECON.


The jury consisted of representatives of the Johannes Kepler University Linz, the Upper Austrian Government, the Economic Chamber, the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Company) and many more.

The jury’s decisions were made on criteria such as benefits, effects on market, business success and environment as well as economical effects.

SPRECON-E is a component-based universal platform with funciton-oriented hardware and software, which allows realisation of various automation solutions in the area of power generation and distribution.

The fundamental application fields of SPRECON-E are station control, power plant control, telecontrol and power system protection.

SPRECON-E is applied in almost every Austrian power utility. Moreover, many well-known international power utilities and groups as well as industries have already in use Sprecher’s automation platform.
