TAMPOPRINT AG has been making high-precision fully automatic tampon printing lines for the toy industry for decades. Very small parts for which the transport units are produced in our in-house tool shop, including even professional robot feeding and industrial camera process monitoring. The cost pressure at the customer’s market segment of the toy industry is permanently increasing and requires a minimum of time involved for set-up time and quality control during production. Highest flexibility of the machine concept was required in order to meet the requirement - up to 9 different workpieces with one automation. TAMPOPRINT AG successfully implemented this requirement by means of a robot feeding and in the process 7 of the 9 workpiece variants are produced without the need to change-over the feeding. The robot feeding identifies the correct position or corrects it if need be and allows printing speeds up to 1.200 parts / h. Max. 5 minutes set-up time for the 2 remaining variants are necessary. The high-precision workpiece carriers have been manufactured as universal mandrels in the in-house computer-operated machining centre; this results in a 100% registration of the multi-colour print. Electromechanically driven tampon printing machines of the series “Hermetic” ensure with highest repeat accuracy and quiet running a brilliant printing quality.
