Tiger with duplex, CANopen and Modbus for controlling of lifting applications

Tele Radio’s new system Tiger is developed for radio remote controlling of lifting applications such as cranes, EOT cranes and hoists where there is a requirement of duplex functions.

Tiger is a very secure and safe system. Both the systems stop function and two specifically chosen relays in the receiver are approved according to SIL 3 EIC 61508. The two specifically chosen relays can be programmed in order to obtain an even higher function security and if needed they can be used as standard/function relays. The system has a number of configuration alternatives to chose between. One is for letting for each user to log in with a specific RFID-tag to be able to start the system. Duplex, CANopen and Modbus have been important for the Tiger systems development. Another important issue is that the software should be easy to modify and adapt for the customers requirements and needs. Further security aspect, is that Tiger transmits on 433-434 MHz with 69 chooseable channels.

Tiger’s handheld transmitters will come in models with 10x2 functions and display or 12x2 functions without display. The joystick transmitter will be available with 2 joysticks and 2 speeds as well as 2 joysticks and 4 speeds. The user receives feedback from its application via the transmitter display. For example, information about the weight of the load, assuming that a weight sensor has been connected to the system receiver. The user also receives visible feedback that the communication between the transmitter and receiver is working via the transmitters LED´s.

Tiger receivers are developed to be able to communicate with one or several external units via Modbus, for example a weight sensor. The receivers will be available in two variants with 12 function relays, one with CANopen and one without. It will also be available with 28 function relays. All the receivers have two relays for the stop function and two with increased security, which are being supervised by three processors. The power supply of the receivers are 12-350V AC/DC or 24-230V AC.
