Mini magnetic field sensors for the smallest cylinders

Smaller than a match, Turck’s new BIM-UNR sensor still provides an LED and a mounting screw

Turck extends its range of magnetic field sensors with a new, fully electronic baby-sized sensor for position detection on even the smallest pneumatic cylinders. With a height of only 4.6 mm and a total length of only 18 mm, the BIM-UNR is perfectly suited for all current rounded groove cylinders. Mounting this compact sensor is as easy as can be: Simply insert the sensor into the groove from above and fixate it via the integrated 1.5 mm hexagon socket thumb screw. A quarter-turn is all it takes. The vibration-proof mounting close to the cable outlet keeps the sensor from lifting if the cable is moved.
Being completely countersank in the groove, the new BIM-UNR is totally insusceptible to mechanical mounting. Moreover, the magnetic field sensor guarantees optimal response characteristics, because its sensor element is located at the bottom of the groove – as close to the magnet as possible. Despite its compact housing, Turck’s new magnet field sensor provides a clearly visible LED that reports the switching status on-site. All BIM-UNR models (NOC or NCC) are available with connection cable lengths of two or seven meters or as pigtail quick disconnect variants (M8 or M12).
