Two heat exchangers in one.
In principle there are two heat exchangers pushed into each other. The safety heat exchanger has a sealing liquid between the -into each other lying- tubes. In this interim system is a small amount of a sealing liquid placed, filled with pressure and than sealed and kept under this pressure. If there is a pressure deviation upward or downward in this pressure monitoring system, the pressure switch switches in both directions – i.e. you have a 100% safety, if the outer or inner tube gets destroyed. In case of damage, a little bit of fluid flows from the hot side into the small interim circle. When the tube, where the liquid flows -you use for cooling- gets damaged, a small amount of the sealing liquid gets into the cooling water, but that is not hazardous. In addition, if the worst case happens, the system alarms automatically and uses different actions to protect the system. When reporting a drop pressure, you even have a functioning heat exchanger, because only one half of the heat exchanger is defective. The cooling water remains protected even longer. Because the sealing liquid is selected, that neither the cooling medium, yet the fluid -to be cooled- and also harms the amount present is very low, damage and high disposal costs for contaminated media are largely excluded. In addition, the water in the system valves could damage proportional technology or pumps, so maybe the system needs to be repaired very cost intensive.
The cost of security
The costs of potential damage to major equipment or contamination of drinking water are incalculable. This contrasts with the higher price of the heat exchanger, because basically, the safety heat exchanger is a heat exchanger in a heat exchanger. The materials of the safety heat exchanger can be adapted accordingly the application (e.g. river- or seawater). The material combination of tubes and seals must and can be selected according to the application.
