Vaisala Launches Revolutionary Polymer Sensor for Dewpoint to minus 112 °F.

Vaisala Launches Revolutionary Polymer Sensor for Dewpoint to -112 °F.

Woburn, MA – April 23, 2008

The Vaisala DRYCAP® Dewpoint Professional transmitter DMT152 uses a new, polymer sensor technology to measure dewpoint temperatures down to -112°F. Thesensor combines the proven stability and durability of Vaisala’s existing thin-film polymer DRYCAP® sensor with a vastly expanded measurement range. Previous versions only measured dewpoint temperatures as low as - 76 °F. All Vaisala polymer sensors are known for their ability to withstand condensation and to recover from liquid water exposure. Until the launch of the DMT152 technology, these were unattainable in the very dry measurement ranges.

The DMT152 dewpoint transmitter relies on patented AUTO-CALIBRATION, which provides long term accuracy and durability. Auto-calibration also provides impressive wet to dry response time, measured in minutes not hours or days. The DMT152 mechanics withstand harsh environments that require protection against dust, dirt and splashed water.

Typical industries and applications include desiccant manufacturer of air dryers, industrial glove boxes and other dry chamber applications, SF6 gas in high-voltage switchgear, and any inert gases where measuring very low water vapor content is required.

Each Vaisala DRYCAP® DMT152 comes with a NIST traceable calibration certificate and can be delivered in less than one week. For more information about the DMT152 including specifications, operation, installation, pricing, etc.:
