Since its initial introduction the V600 has become one of the highest selling Voortman drilling systems. Recently this very popular drilling system has been redeveloped. The system has been improved in several aspects; therefore the V600 produces even more efficiently. The drive of the drilling device is anew design and the system is provided with an automatic tool changer.

Drilling speed increased by 300%
Previously frequency-controlled motors drove the drilling system. In the new design these are replaced by servomotors and servo-drives. Therefore it is possible to use not only HSS professional drills but also carbide tipped drills as a result of which the drilling speed has increased by at least 300%!The new V600 is also fitted with an automatic tool changer. The tool changer has capacity for five drills, which can be changed fully automatically. With the previous model, drills had to be changed manually. Now the machine can provide multiple steel sections with the desired hole pattern.

Compact and profitable
The V600 is provided with a fixed drilling table the required floor space is reduced by about 50% compared with a 3-spindle drilling system with infeed and outfeed manufacturers of conveyors. Since the introduction in 2004 there has been so much demand for this system that we now have a continuous production for building the machines. Consequently the V600 can be produced very efficiently, quickly and offered for a relatively low price. As a result of its limited footprint and the attractive price, the V600 is very popular with small to medium sized steel fabricators and steel stockholders who have limited floor space available.
