With the development of the WDG 24A , the manufacturer and system supplier Wachendorff Automation GmbH & Co. KG is now able to offer an encoder that requires only a negligible amount of installation space. This has been made possible thanks to a new magnetic measurement principle. Despite space-saving dimensions of only 24 mm diameter and a housing depth of just 42 mm, the WDG24A meets the high demands for load capacity in harsh environments.
The WDG24A is designed to handle high mechanical loads up to 80 N radial and 50 N axial. Moreover the encoder will operate perfectly at temperatures between -40 °C and +80 °C and offers all-round protection to IP65. A new chip allows for infinite adjustment of the resolution between 1 and 256 ppr - 512 ppr or 1024 ppr are now also possible.
After precision assembly the new WDG24A is programmed. Parameters that are set automatically include the number of pulses, the signal compensation and the amplitude setting; these values are then written safely to the EPROM. This is followed by a comprehensive final test.
Typical applications for the WDG24A include mobile machines, industrial wind turbines and medical technology. However the WDG24A is also always in great demand in the machine building industry.
