Watlow® Honored with Highest Quality Award and President’s Award by MEDRAD Watlow

St. Louis – Watlow®, a designer and manufacturer of electric heaters, controllers and temperature sensors was honored with both the Quality award and a President’s award by MEDRAD, a market leader in computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging
and interventional cardiology, during MEDRAD’s Supplier Day 2011 activities.

In presenting the Quality award, MEDRAD Executive Director, Supplier Management Pete Ochel said, “Watlow achieved the maximum quality score in each month that TRACQ has been instituted, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to quality. Watlow is a responsive partner to MEDRAD’s quality team that we continue to foster going forward.”

TRACQ is MEDRAD’s score card system that evaluates and ranks suppliers based on achievements in five areas: technology, responsiveness, assurance of supply, cost advantage and quality.
Watlow General Manager Rob Gilmore said, “Watlow is especially honored to receive these awards from MEDRAD, a company that has received the internationally recognized Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence.”

The Quality award is presented annually to a single TRACQ supplier in recognition of their contributions in helping MEDRAD satisfy their customers through consistent quality performance and support.
Watlow was also acknowledged with the President’s award which is given to a supplier who has met the requirements for being in the top ten percent of overall average scores for all TRACQ suppliers.

Watlow Account Manager Matt Kelly, who accepted the awards with Sales Agent Richard Vlah, and Value Stream Leader Brad Trickel said, “Watlow has had the pleasure of doing business with MEDRAD for over 30 years. We’re very excited and looking forward to the next 30 years.”

Watlow supplies syringe heaters for fluid delivery to MEDRAD, a major market leader of fluid injector systems used for MRI contrast media.
