Lasers for Aerospace Industry

The new Professional laser projector LP-HFD from Z-LASER has been optimized especially for complex positioning applications in aerospace industry. It provides interfaces for all common 3D-CAD programmes to display contours on curved surfaces. The Laser projector combines the advantages of contour templating and computer control to automate the manufacture of complex composite parts.
When the Laser outline is shown on the surface, the operator can immediately determine where to place plies, prepregs or working pieces like balsa core, stiffeners or vacuum pods or solar panels for satellites for example. This not only increases throughput but also improves quality by reducing errors and manual rework. The Laser is also very helpful for seat shell manufacturing or other Aircraft interior fittings and for material nesting.
The LP-HFD weighs less than 12kg (26.5 lbs), making mounting and servicing easy and convenient. Data communication is based on industrial references like Ethernet up to one Gigabit, integrated WLAN or traditional serial connection.
A special software provides complete control of the Laser projector and can be configured and adapted to any customer needs. Pop-up windows, info fields and buttons can be added, modified or removed according to unique application requirements. Besides the standard control software, Z-LASER also provides a powerful Application Programming Interface (API) for WINDOWS operating systems or the TCP/IP Winsocks Technology.
Professional projectors can be used as stand-alone units in a cluster or as a line of projectors working together to cover the required projection area for displaying large production pieces such as fuselages or wings.
