Z-LASER has been awarded with the prize for the „Best product“ in the category „Order picking, packaging, protection“ at the LogiMAT 2008 in Stuttgart.
The Laser manufacturer, situated in Freiburg, Germany, has been stood out with its unique Pick-by-Light solution and persuaded the professional jury made up of six representatives from industry, research and the media with its innovative laser professional projector “LP-CUBE”.
Dr. Ulrich Van Gemmeren – Z-LASER’s Managing Director for Sales & Marketing – has received the prize. He defines the advantages of using the laser projector as follows: “Our LP-CUBE is a flexible solution to minimize errors in assembling, packaging and order picking. It not only assures correct picking but also increases picking performance by significantly reducing the time required for picking an order.
The LP-CUBE has been especially developed for storage systems where multiple subdivided tray systems (multi-trays) are used. Mounted vertically to the picking location, the laser projector clearly marks the tray where goods have to be taken out or stored just by projecting a geometrical figure like a rectangle or a cross.
The laser projector receives all positioning data, which usually also contains tray geometric data, directly via the control software of the warehouse management system or from a decentralized PLC-control. It can communicate either via serial or network mode. The tray geometric data can be adjusted or modified anytime.
Furthermore, the LP-CUBE can be used in assembly lines or packaging applications. Here it displays the number of screws to be placed or shows the quantity of the missing parts to be packed.
