Automation of plastic serial tests possible at any time
Robotic specimen industrial feeding systems for materials testing stations are used in research and development for cost-effective testing of large numbers of specimen. Zwick has developed its latest robotic professional tester for plastic tensile and flexure testing. The “roboTest B“ can be supplied either with a completely new testing machine or retrofitted to an existing system. Able to operate 24 hours per day, it can easily alternate between tensile and flexure testing of plastics.
The system has been developed to test a wide range of specimens, It uses a combination of suction and calliper grip, and consists of a feeding axis and a magazine with a capacity of 20-25 specimens. Mounting on a Zwick tester is very easy, even for the retrofit unit. Manual tests are professional still possible. Since most components are standardized modules from Zwick’s product range the unit is virtually maintenance-free. In addition the integrated protector equipment and protective housing results in a CE labelled product for safe operation.
The robotic tester operates with Zwick’s testXpert® II professional software and the automation module autoEdition2. The main advantage of this software is its intuitive and easy use requiring virtually no previous technical knowledge or programming experience. The software guarantees optimal and traceable test results and allows customized result processing and documentation. The complete system can be easily integrated into corporate IT infrastructures.
